Workers to Noy: Inauguration speech must address wage hike

Workers led by militant labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno gathered near the residence of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Times Street to call on the president-elect to immediately address workers’ demand for a legislated P125 across-the-board wage hike nationwide. Groups march, hold “protest parade” on June 12

Militant groups today marched in Manila to commemorate the 112th declaration of Philippine Independence. The protest marches came on the same day President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo presided over a grand parade showcasing her achievements for the last nine years, with the theme “Kalayaan: Tagumpay ng Bayan”.
