We mourn the death of Ka Crispin Bletran, an unwavering hero of the working class not just in the Philippines but in many nations. The thousands of Filipino migrant workers belonging to Katipunan ng mga Migranteng Manggagawa sa Korea (KASAMMAKO) remembers Ka Bel’s powerful challenge to organize and fight for their rights during its founding assembly in 1998 when he delivered a solidarity message and during its 8th anniversary celebration in Seoul.

The great leader of the working class, the chairperson of the 3 turn of the Anakpawis Party, parliamentarian and great fighter for independence, democracy and of the solidarity of the international working class, and at the same time the first chairperson and later on honourable chairperson of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) Crispin Beltran or as the oppressed masses called him’ Ka Bel has passed away on May 20th with 75 years.

KMU Calls for Work-Stoppage As Homage for Ka Bel on His Burial

Miltant Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) today called on all workers to hold work-stoppages on May 28 as homage for KMU Chairman Emeritus Crispin 'Ka Bel' Beltran on the day of his funeral. KMU declared May 28 as a “National Day of Mourning for Ka Bel and Protest against the US-Macapagal-Arroyo regime.”
